Fay has come and gone...

So our family went on a little vacation to the Florida Keys for a a few days. Turns out there was this storm coming straight for us... We spent the day Saturday enjoying some awesome snorkeling and diving on a reef about 20 miles off shore. That evening we decided to go into Key West and have some adult fun. The next day was spent on the road along with the rest of the tourist population in mass exodus out of the keys. A drive that normally takes about 3.5 hours took roughly 5 hours. Anyways we roughed out the storm at home in Naples. The storm made landfall in Marco Island which is about 10 minutes away from our house. The next day power was out for about 8 to 10 hours.

Here is a picture of the aftermath on 5th Avenue in downtown Naples. Thats my office there in the background.

Glad to see you're ok...
and it doean't like you have too much 'clean-up' to do...
How's the pool?

Not much clean-up downtown but there was more significant damage further south. In our neighborhood there were quite a few lamp post that got knocked over and a few tress came down but it looks like it was mostly minor stuff. I spent all afternoon Tuesday cleaning the pool getting all the crud that got shaken off the screen enclosure and into the pool. It was due for a thorough cleaning anyway...
